Work with irrigation professionals who have been certified by the California Landscape Contractors Association’s Water Management Certification Program, the Irrigation Association, Monterey Bay Green Business Program, the Green Gardener Program, or can prove that they have equivalent education and experience with water efficient irrigation practices.
Request the contractor’s portfolio and/or permission to see examples of water efficient irrigation systems that the contractor has installed.
Ask the contractor to explain specifically how their design will reduce water use and eliminate water waste in your landscape.
If sprinkler heads are installed, request an audit of the new irrigation system to assure adequate distribution uniformity and irrigation efficiency.
